Match report for Sunday 17/10/06 against Broadbury Park.

Pleasant mid October weather greeted the Fry Club Girls, for a game against the current second placed Broadbury Park.

Broadbury Park took the lead with a fine goal barely three minutes into the game, and showed their intent from the off! The Fry Club Girls closed ranks and held their heads high and started to produce some quality football and at the midway point of the first half Stephanie with a lovely move set Amy up for a great goal and Fry's were deservedly level at 1-1.

This seemed to rattle Broadbury Park and Fry's had several other opportunities to go ahead.

After the break Broadbury Park stepped up a gear for the first five minutes but the Fry Club Girls didn't crack and then pushed out and gave Broadbury Park all sorts of problems on the break as Amy hit the side netting. For the next ten minutes the game was wide open, and then at the mid way point of the second half the Broadbury Park centre forward snatched the ball directly from a Fry's goal kick and put Broadbury Park back in front.

Broadbury Park scored their third goal only minutes later bring the score to 3-1 in their favour. Still the Fry's girls wouldn't lie down and very nearly pulled one back in the dying minutes, but the score remained at 3-1 to Broadbury Park.

The score of this game really doesn't reflect the display of football the Fry Club Girls produced and the dogged determination shown! Every player with out exception deserves a pat on the back!

This weeks player of the match goes to Stephanie for her attitude drive and determination shown along with a lovely set up goal for Amy, well done!
